Programme Facilitator Job Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Programme Facilitator to join our team. As a Programme Facilitator, you will play a key role in the delivery of our Supported Helpers Programme.
Job Description
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator is responsible for facilitating the programme, including:
* Supporting young people and adults with disabilities to maximise their personal independence and social and emotional competencies.
* Acting as an advocate for each participant in the programme.
Key Responsibilities
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator will be responsible for:
* Liaising with the Equestrian Facilitated Education Programme and other Programme Facilitators in relation to the preparation of activities.
* Liaising with participants' family members/guardians and/or support persons as appropriate.
* Liaising with the Equestrian Learning Centre team to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the horses.
Programme Projects
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator will assist with:
* Equine programme management and strategic planning.
Programme Administration
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator will be responsible for:
* Maintaining and updating participant records in line with Festina Lente's Quality Assurance systems.
* Liaising with the Programme Coordinator in the monitoring and assurance of programme quality.
Training and Development
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator will participate in:
* Designated equine, facilitation skills, and disability awareness workshops.
* Identifying and addressing learning needs required in this role to further enhance programme facilitation within Festina Lente.
* Active participation in team and staff meetings.
Health & Safety
The Supported Helper Programme Facilitator will be responsible for:
* Observing, reporting, and taking action on any matter which may be detrimental to participants' safety and wellbeing.
* Completing incident reporting and near miss events.
* Completing and reviewing risk assessments, including the development of a positive risk management plan for participants.
* Adhering to all internal policies and procedures and to all relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience in programme facilitation, with a focus on engaging young adult learners with additional needs and positive behaviour solutions in a learning environment.
* Proven ability to mentor and empower learners with additional needs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both individually and across a team setting.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups.
* Commitment to fostering a culture of social inclusion.
* Enjoys the outdoor environment and is physically able and fit for the strenuous nature of the post.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A third-level qualification in social care (desirable).
* Proven experience of working in the area of disability, mental health, youth work, or another related field.
* Equestrian experience (minimum): proven experience of working with horses in a teaching environment, in terms of horse behaviour.
* A full and clean Irish driving licence.
Language and Work Authorisation
The ideal candidate will have:
* Fluent English language skills.
* Work authorisation in Ireland.
