The CAS R&D team is working on innovative products to advance Medtronic’s ablation portfolio with Pulse Field Ablation (PFA).The Senior R&D Engineering Manager is a functional business leader responsible for the R&D engineering team to execute critical development projects. You will be accountable for the engineering staff in Galway and are expected to foster a high-performing team culture. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional Core Team members to enhance teamwork and effectiveness. This position is hybrid, requiring 4 days onsite per week.Come for a job, stay for a career!A Day in the Life Of:Plans, directs, and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products.Develops, evaluates, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems or standards related to materials, techniques, or products.Oversees investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.Guides the development of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, or products.Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.Manages feasibility studies to ensure designs function as intended.Maintains documentation throughout all phases of research and development.Coordinates activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operations.Mentors team members to ensure full engagement and contribution to project success.Champions product development best practices such as collecting high-quality Voice of Customer inputs, early risk burn-down, and Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM).Travel requirement: 25% or less domestically and internationally.Key Skills & ExperienceDegree in Engineering or related discipline with 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years relevant experience.Experience managing engineers, including performance reviews, recruiting, discipline, and career development.Proven ability as a dynamic team player and influencer, working effectively on cross-functional teams.Excellent team-building, communication, and management skills.Extensive program management skills are a plus.Experience in the medical device market with a proven result-driven record.Physical Job RequirementsDetails not specified.Benefits & CompensationMedtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package.
