Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation & Acquired Brain Injury Location: Cork city & north Cork Salary: €65,000-€75,000 DOE + excellent benefits Contract: Full-time, Permanent Due to continued expansion, our client is growing their Allied Healthcare team in Cork and is recruiting a dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist to work across a couple of their Nursing Homes, ABI and Sub Acute services located throughout Cork.

This permanent role, working within modern nursing homes, offering high-quality care to residents with a wide range of rehabilitation needs, including those recovering from ABI, stroke, and complex medical events.
Role: This is an exciting opportunity to shape recovery and enhance quality of life for residents through meaningful, evidence-based OT intervention.
You will require a full clean Irish driving licence and access to a car for conducting off-site seating assessments.

You will join a highly supportive and collaborative team, including experienced Senior Occupational Therapists and a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Manager who are on hand to offer mentorship and guidance always.
Responsibilities Manage a varied rehabilitation-focused caseload of residents with ABI, stroke, and post-acute care needs.
Complete comprehensive assessments including functional, seating, cognitive, and mobility evaluations.
Create tailored intervention and discharge plans, promoting independence and safety at home or in community care.

Conduct comprehensive functional, cognitive, and seating assessments.
Create and implement individualised intervention plans that promote independence and participation in daily life.
Work closely with residents, families, and carers to support recovery, community re-integration, or long-term care goals.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, service planning, and supervision of junior OT staff and students Requirements: CORU-registered Occupational Therapist.
Minimum 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including work with older people, stroke, dementia, or post-acute rehabilitation.
Confidence in handling complex discharges, cognitive assessments, and assistive technologies.
Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, with a collaborative, MDT-driven approach.
Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
Skilled in seating assessments, cognitive interventions, and complex discharge planning.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and MDT collaboration skills.
Full, clean Irish driving licence and access to a car (for off-site assessments if required).
Prior experience in a nursing home, residential, or step-down setting is a distinct advantage.
