Job Title: Project Accountant
As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate profitability reporting of large-scale projects.
Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Issue weekly and monthly cost and revenue reports, providing analysis on trends and movements.
* Stakeholder Updates: Present monthly updates to senior stakeholders on revenue, costs, and margins.
* Project Monitoring: Partner with commercial teams to monitor project spending, track costs, and provide insight on projections.
* Contract Management: Manage contract/revenue accounting including WIP and revenue recognition.
* Reporting Tools: Support the development of new reporting tools using Power BI.
* Credibility and Relationships: Build credibility and strong relationships with site teams to challenge assumptions and ensure accurate project assessments.
Requirements:
* Accounting Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
* Experience: 1-2 years PQE depending on level/experience.
* Communication Skills: Strong communicator with the personality to work closely alongside senior leadership.
* Personal Qualities: Driven, ambitious, and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.
* Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modelling) and experience with Power BI.
* Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness and adaptability to changing business environments.
