The Role of Regulatory Counsel: A Key Position in Financial Institutions
As a key member of the legal and compliance team, this role plays a vital part in ensuring financial regulatory compliance across various jurisdictions.
This position requires a qualified lawyer with extensive experience in debt finance or financial regulatory matters. The ideal candidate should possess strong commercial acumen, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with counterpart lawyers.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage regulatory risk for existing and new financial products
* Track changes in laws and assess their impact on products, ensuring compliance and adaptability
* Assist in designing and launching new products or geographic expansions, evaluating and mitigating regulatory risks
* Obtain and manage regulatory authorisations and/or banking partnerships
* Oversee external counsel on regulatory and business-critical matters
Key Qualifications:
* Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of experience in debt finance or financial regulatory matters
* Experience working with C-level executives and collaborating with counterpart lawyers
* Strong commercial acumen, written and verbal communication skills, and coaching capabilities
