My client based in Galway is currently looking for a Financial Technician. If you're a detail-focused finance professional looking to contribute to the public education sector, a Galway-based education centre has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Financial Technician. This is a new, full-time position (35 hours per week) offering the opportunity to play a key role in the organisation’s financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately record financial transactions and assist in preparing monthly accounts and statutory returns (e.g. payroll, VAT).
* Support payroll, pensions, budgeting, and annual financial statement preparation.
* Manage accounts payable/receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.
* Assist in internal control reviews, compliance monitoring, and audit preparation.
* Collaborate across departments on budget tracking and funding drawdowns.
* Provide general administrative and financial support to the Centre’s operations.
Key Requirements:
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs/Sheets; knowledge of Bright Books and Thesaurus is an advantage.
* Strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with Zoom/Teams is a plus.
