We are looking for an experienced project quantity surveyor to join our team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Cost Management: Monitor and manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
Subcontractor Management: Lead subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, progress monitoring, and timely payment administration.
Commercial Reporting: Maintain detailed financial and commercial reporting systems to support strategic decisions and project objectives.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks to ensure project profitability.
Contract Administration: Oversee contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring compliance with terms.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with clients, consultants, design teams, and internal teams to align financial strategies with project milestones.
Compliance: Ensure all financial processes comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations.
Estimating: Support cost estimating activities; familiarity with Candy or similar software is advantageous but not mandatory.
About You – Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field preferred; SCSI chartership desirable or working towards.
Experience: 6–10 years in civil engineering or commercial building construction, ideally with large-scale or design-build projects.
Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with financial management systems (Candy, IFS, or equivalent).
Financial Acumen: Expertise in budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and commercial management.
Commercial Awareness: Thorough knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and main contract conditions.
Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
