The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a varied Senior Accountant position offering a strong blend of financial accounting responsibilities alongside meaningful involvement in commercial finance. You will play a key role in the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and integrity across financial reporting, while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting and insightful analysis to guide business decisions.
Key responsibilities will include preparation of monthly management accounts, ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations, and oversight of core finance processes such as accruals, prepayments and cash reconciliations. Alongside this, you will deliver regular variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to senior stakeholders.
Crucially, you will be actively involved in the annual budgeting cycle and ongoing forecasting process, gaining exposure to the commercial drivers of the business and supporting forward‑looking planning. Additional responsibilities will include involvement in audit processes, tax compliance activities, payroll review, and continuous improvement initiatives across finance and wider operations.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role. You will have strong technical accounting foundations combined with a genuine interest in developing your commercial finance skillset.
You will be comfortable working in a deadline‑driven environment, with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical capability. Advanced Excel skills are essential, and experience working with ERP systems would be advantageous.
You will bring a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach will be key, along with a genuine ambition to broaden your exposure beyond traditional reporting into commercially focused finance.
