AR&D Analytical Chemist - Swords, Dublin | 12-month contract | On-site
CPL is seeking to recruit an experienced Analytical Chemist for an on-site position with SK pharmteco, based at its R&D Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin.
About the Role
This role is based within the AR&D laboratories, which provide analytical expertise supporting the development and manufacture of clinical and commercial small-molecule APIs.
The Analytical Chemist will play a key role in analytical method development, transfer, validation, qualification and troubleshooting, while also supporting the daily operation and maintenance of the AR&D laboratories.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with R&D Chemistry, Operations, QA/QC, SHE and external stakeholders, ensuring compliant, right-first-time manufacturing of existing and new products. The role may also involve mentoring junior analytical staff
Key Responsibilities
Analytical & Technical Activities
1. Perform analytical testing in a timely manner to support:
Manufacturing campaignsMaterial releaseR&D Chemistry lab activities (use-tests, familiarisation experiments)Stability programsReference standard qualificationAnalytical investigations
2. Support analytical method development, validation, transfer and qualification.
3. Troubleshoot analytical and instrumentation-related issues.
Documentation & Compliance
4. Prepare, review and execute analytical protocols.
5. Prepare and review analytical reports.
6. Ensure all documentation is completed right first time, in compliance with GMP and local procedures.
7. Support change controls, investigations and quality events as required.
Laboratory & Equipment Support
8. Ensure all laboratory instrumentation is calibrated, maintained and fit for use.
9. Support the day-to-day running and housekeeping of the AR&D laboratories.
10. Ensure all required training is completed prior to task execution.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
11. Liaise with Senior Analytical Chemists for technical support and complex investigations.
12. Attend weekly team meetings and actively contribute to a high-performance, innovative and continuous improvement culture.
13. Meet regularly with the manager to discuss performance, feedback and development opportunities.
14. Ensure a safe working environment for all laboratory personnel.
Key Skills & Experience
Education & Experience
15. BSc or MSc in Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent).
16. Minimum 4 years' experience in analytical activities within a pharmaceutical manufacturing or R&D environment.
Technical Skills
17. Strong background in analytical chemistry.
18. Experience working under FDA and EU GMP requirements, particularly laboratory operations.
19. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
20. Ability to work to tight timelines and project deadlines.
Soft Skills
21. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
22. Strong technical writing ability.
23. Open-minded, adaptable and receptive to new ideas
