Financial Operations Specialist

This role involves overseeing the financial operations and performance of a company, including managing financial records, analysing data, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic guidance to the management team.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Financial Controller in a manufacturing environment and will be proficient in financial software and ERP systems, with a strong knowledge of Excel and other data analysis tools. They will also have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field combined with a professional accounting qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparing and presenting accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts, quarterly and annual reporting packs, and annual financial statements (P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet)
2. Developing and managing the budget and forecasting processes to build robust annual budgets and periodic forecasts
3. Managing month-end financial and inventory closing processes with precision and efficiency
4. Preparing year-end statutory accounts and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT, RTD, Intrastat, and PAYE filings
5. Monitoring daily cash flow and hedging foreign currency effectively
6. Leading cost analysis, pricing strategies, and margin reviews to align financial performance with business objectives
7. Overseeing internal controls, risk management, and financial compliance activities
8. Collaborating with the Board to develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and long-term plans
9. Assisting in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and data-driven recommendations
10. Analysing product and project profitability, evaluating pricing strategies, and providing recommendations for improving profitability
11. Continuously identifying areas for process improvement within the finance department and working with the team to implement efficiency-enhancing measures
12. Managing the finance team to foster a high-performance culture
