Radiographer - Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin
UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is recruiting for a Radiographer for a 6‑month fixed term contract. The Radiographer reports to the Radiology Services Manager for all matters relating to the job and is accountable for the delivery of high standard radiographic care.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations as required.
* Maintain a high standard of radiography and apply Radiation Protection Rules at all times.
* Familiarise with and abide by the Patient’s Charter; treat every patient as an individual with courtesy, kindness, efficiency and confidentiality.
* Adapt flexible approach to urgent and walk‑in cases; participate in the out‑of‑hour rota.
Administrative Responsibilities
* Inspect equipment and carry out quality‑assurance procedures on a daily basis.
* Report all equipment defects that may affect safety and record incidents accurately.
* Communicate effectively with other disciplines and attend meetings or committees as required.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area; promote high staff morale and team spirit.
* Contribute to clinical risk management and continuous quality improvement.
Education and Teaching Responsibilities
* Keep up to date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and show evidence of continuing professional development.
* Participate in in‑service training and induct and guide new staff to the clinic.
* Promote good relationships with key clinic staff by exercising attitudes that demonstrate understanding of the clinic’s wider function.
Self‑Development Responsibilities
* Keep up‑to‑date with current developments in radiology.
* Accountable for the quality of the service provided, including customer service and technical aspects.
Information Technology Responsibilities
* Ensure the most effective use of technology for both patient care and administrative purposes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Radiography, a Diploma of the College of Radiographers or a qualification validated by CORU that is at least equivalent to the above.
* Be Registered with CORU.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and prove written and verbal communication abilities.
* Be computer‑literate.
* Work on own initiative, prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously, and demonstrate attention to detail.
* Identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
