Overview
Expleo is seeking a DevOps Lead to drive operational delivery and automation for backend systems supporting POS terminal management and terminal configuration. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role that requires strong technical leadership, close collaboration across platform and domain teams, and deep expertise in CI/CD, security integration, observability, and infrastructure automation.
This role is fully onsite in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
Responsibilities
* DevOps Delivery & Automation
o Define and implement DevOps delivery plans for POS, Terminal Management Systems (TMS), and Terminal Configuration Systems (TCS).
o Translate product and roadmap requirements into CI/CD, deployment, and operational workstreams.
o Build, maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines for backend services and terminal software artefacts using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
* Security & Compliance
o Integrate mandated security tooling including SAST (Fortify), SCA, and DAST into pipelines to support strong shift‑left practices.
o Implement secure secrets management, including key lifecycle controls, HSM interactions, and robust cryptographic interface handling.
o Ensure deployments meet regulatory and audit requirements, including PCI‑related governance.
* Infrastructure & Environment Management
o Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and manage container orchestration using Kubernetes and Helm.
o Provision and maintain development, test, and production environments.
o Oversee configuration management and secure handling of environment‑specific settings.
* Release Orchestration & Deployment
o Design and execute release strategies for terminal ecosystems, including blue/green, canary, and phased rollouts.
o Manage artefact repositories such as Nexus or Artifactory, ensuring safe, auditable cutovers.
* Observability, Monitoring & Resilience
o Instrument services for monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana.
o Define SLOs/SLIs, lead incident response, and drive post‑incident reviews.
* Performance, Capacity & Cost Optimisation
o Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimisation.
o Design cost‑efficient cloud or cloud‑native architectures that balance performance with operational cost control.
* Testing & Quality Enablement
o Embed automated testing (unit, integration, contract, E2E) into CI/CD pipelines.
o Coordinate device‑farm or emulator test runs for terminal images, supporting QA automation needs.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
o Work closely with platform, security, product, QA, Android/terminal engineering, and operations teams to ensure environment stability and release readiness.
o Provide clear technical status and risk reporting to programme and senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
* Professional certifications in DevOps, cloud or security (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, CISSP) are advantageous.
* Experience in regulated/financial environments and familiarity with PCI DSS highly desirable.

Experience
* Proven hands‑on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles within large enterprises—ideally payments, fintech, or POS environments.
* Strong experience with CI/CD tooling and modern pipeline design.
* Practical knowledge of Fortify, SCA, DAST, and security governance integration.
* Expertise in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised deployments.
* Experience with backend technologies commonly used in payment ecosystems, including:
o Java / Kotlin / Spring / microservices
o REST APIs
o Kafka / message buses
o Relational & NoSQL datastores
* Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, Groovy, or similar languages.
