Job Summary
The Healthcare Assistant will provide high-quality, person-centered care for patients and their families. This role requires assisting in all aspects of direct personal care, carrying out assigned tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Follow the agreed plan of care to ensure effective patient care.
* Respect patients' dignity, wishes, and beliefs, obtaining their consent for treatment.
* Assist with patients' clothing, laundry, lockers, and wardrobes.
* Prepare and serve meals and beverages for patients.
* Assist patients with eating and drinking, recording and reporting same.
* Maintain high standards of practice at all times.
* Participate in the care of deceased patients and their relatives.
* Record and report care activities undertaken accurately to the nurse-in-charge.
* Support nursing staff in delivering person-centered care.
Essential Criteria
* Hold an NVQ Level 2 Care Award or equivalent.
* Be willing to complete an Enhanced Access NI Check.
