What is the opportunity?
Bank of Ireland is transforming its digital services through its DevOps Centre of Excellence, rolling out an engineering platform across the group. We seek a visionary Senior Product Owner to lead the platform's vision and execution. This role is key to delivering scalable, secure, and resilient platform capabilities that empower development teams. You will define and prioritize platform features to enhance developer experience, reduce time to market, and ensure compliance within a highly regulated environment.
In this role, you will:
* Own the product roadmap for the internal engineering platform, aligning with enterprise technology and business strategy.
* Define and manage the product backlog for platform components such as CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, developer portals, observability tooling, and infrastructure automation.
* Collaborate with engineering, architecture, security, and risk teams to ensure platform security and robustness.
* Drive adoption of platform capabilities across engineering teams by delivering intuitive, self-service, high-quality solutions.
* Translate complex technical needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Gather continuous feedback from users to evolve platform features and usability.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in product ownership or management, preferably in enterprise technology environments.
* Deep understanding of platform engineering concepts, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
* Experience working in regulated environments like banking or financial services.
* Ability to define and drive platform strategies across multiple teams and partners.
* Strong analytical, communication, and partner management skills.
Essential Qualifications
Third-level degree in a relevant subject area.
