Student Systems Co-ordinator Permanent, Whole time Overview: Munster Technological University (MTU) is a multi-campus Technological University, contributing to the region through the provision of academic programmes that support student development and opportunities, education and research. MTU has an extensive and impressive regional footprint with six campuses across the South-West region in Cork and Kerry, and a student body of 18,000. MTU is recruiting a Co-ordinator for their Student Records Management Systems (SRMS). The SRMS Co-ordinator is the business owner for the Student Records Management Systems. The role is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and enhancement of the university's student records systems. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records and supports the implementation of new technologies and processes to improve system efficiency and user experience and drive process improvement. Reporting and location of position: On appointment, the successful candidate will report to the Director of Student Services or their delegate.The postholder could be based on any campus of MTU.Please note that the postholders will be required to attend any of MTUs six campuses regularly, as required. Duties and responsibilities of the position: Leadership: Lead the MyBan teams functional and development. System Management: Oversee the operations of the university's student records system and associated systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with university policies and regulations. Data Quality: Monitor and maintain the accuracy and completeness of student records, including enrolment, grades, transcripts, and degree audits. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SRMS and University processes. User Support: Oversee the provision of training and support to faculty, staff, and students on the use of the SRMS. Address and resolve any system-related issues or concerns. Compliance: Ensure compliance with government, HEA, and University regulations regarding student records and data privacy. Reporting: Manage report creation and production related to student records and academic performance. Manage the provision of data to support institutional research and decision-making Lead the development of Collaboration: Work closely with IT, academic departments, and other university offices to ensure the records system meets the needs of all stakeholders. Work with system providers. Development: Identify, oversee and agree any developments involving myBan systems. Ensure compliance with Banner standards. Project Management: Lead and participate in projects related to the development and implementation of new system features and upgrades. Other duties Undertake other duties that might be assigned by Director of Student Services or their delegate. Essential Criteria:? Minimum Honours degree (level 8) in Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Expertise in student information systems (e.g., Banner), database management, and data analysis tools. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, work collaboratively, and drive change. Project Management Experience. Desirable Criteria: Significant experience of taking SRMS projects from initial scope to implementation. Significant experience of implementing change in a higher education institution Ability to multitask, working both independently and in team situations. Experience of developing effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders Excellent presentation skills. Terms of Appointment: Salary Range:€82,475.00 - €99,213.00pa depending on qualifications and experience. Permanent contract. Hours per week: 35 hours per week Annual leave: 30 days per annum The Interview Process: If invited to an interview, candidates are likely to be assessed at the interview under the following interview criteria. Additional criteria may be added for the interview as the need arises. SRMS and relevant Experience Change Management Leadership and Team Management Presentation & Communication Skills. Citizenship Requirement Candidates should note that eligibility to compete for posts is open to citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or to non-EEA nationals with a valid work permit. The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, United Kingdom along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply. It is an offence under the Employment Permits Acts 2003 and 2006 for both an employer and an employee if a non-EEA National is in employment without an appropriate employment permit.
