Job Description:
We are seeking an Associate Director with expertise in next-generation commercial aviation CNS technologies to lead our Connected Systems group at Collins Aerospace in Cork, Ireland. This role involves project execution, technology transition, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement to develop innovative CNS solutions for global aerospace stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
1. Leading and overseeing projects across multiple business lines
2. Defining and communicating long-term strategies for connected and networking technologies
3. Collaborating with business leaders to develop operational plans based on CNS concepts
4. Promoting staff training and engagement
5. Developing and demonstrating technology prototypes for transition to business units
6. Marketing technology offerings externally and influencing customer interests
7. Representing Collins in industry working groups and standards bodies
Qualifications and Skills:
* Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience
* Experience in CNS research & development, including communication protocols, waveforms, and network design
* Proven ability to manage projects within schedule and budget constraints
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Willingness to travel up to 20%
Additional Valued Skills:
* Understanding of aerospace CNS technologies and standards (SAE, AIAA, ICAO)
* Experience in aerospace industry
