OverviewNHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.The RoleYou will provide a service to Renfrewshire Mental Health Inpatient Wards, which are currently based across three sites – Dykebar Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital & Leverndale Hospital. Your base will initially be in one of these sites, though you may be required to rotate to another site in due course. Applicants must be able to work in any of the three sites. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.Duration, Location, and Working PatternThis is a permanent full-time post (37 hours) and these hours will be worked over long days from 07:00 to 19:30 (day shift) and 19:00 to 07:30 (night shift), 3x3 shifts per week with 1 week of 4 shifts within an 8-week period. This post will be based within Dykebar Hospital.Key ResponsibilitiesAs an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team you will work in partnership demonstrating compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the inpatient ward/department.You will be responsible for the assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of complex nursing care programmes using a strength-based recovery-focused approach that proactively involves the person.You are required to undertake duties without direct supervision, supporting and supervising work undertaken by registered and unregistered nursing staff, and taking charge in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse.You will promote partnership working with patients, carers and other professionals/agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or ExperienceYou should have knowledge and experience of working with people with mental health illnesses.It is essential you are an NMC registered nurse.This post also requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland checks.What We OfferWe offer a wide range of supportive policies designed to enhance your employee journey, including a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, Cycle to Work Scheme, bursary scheme and extensive learning and development opportunities.
