The Role
Waterford FC is seeking a
Retail & Ticketing Manager
to lead our front-facing sales operations. This is a key role responsible for maximising retail and ticketing revenue, creating the ultimate fan experience, and ensuring smooth day-to-day management of our club shop and ticket office.
You will be at the heart of the club's interaction with supporters, helping to grow loyalty, increase sales, and deliver a first-class matchday experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all ticketing operations including matchday tickets, season tickets, memberships, and events.
* Work with our external retail partner to manage the club shop and online store, ensuring stock levels are maintained and products are available.
* Collaborate with system providers to ensure ticketing and retail systems are fully set up for all events and products.
* Carry out stock checks, control stock levels, and report on low, high-demand, or non-moving items.
* Ensure seamless transactions at till points and troubleshoot system issues.
* Develop and deliver a retail & ticketing marketing plan in partnership with the COO and Head of Media, including promotions, campaigns, and advertising.
* Identify new commercial opportunities to grow retail and ticketing revenues.
* Manage staff workflow during the week and lead matchday teams across ticket sales and turnstiles.
* Ensure efficient processes for all supporter enquiries via web, email, and phone, maximising sales opportunities while providing outstanding customer service.
* Provide accurate reports and updates to the COO and support Finance with reconciliations and sales reporting.
* Liaise with opposition clubs on ticket allocations and requirements.
* Complete accurate match returns and uphold safe working practices on matchdays.
* Represent the Club at meetings and undertake additional duties as required.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is passionate about football, commercially minded, and driven to deliver excellent service to our supporters.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong IT skills, with competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
* Comfortable using EPOS/till systems, merchant card services, and payment terminals.
* Previous experience working with ticketing or retail systems.
* Previous experience in a customer-facing managerial role.
* Proven ability to deliver and embed excellent customer service standards.
* Experience with ticketing or retail operations (football or sport experience an advantage).
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; personable and approachable.
* Confident team leader, with the ability to motivate and manage staff.
* Flexible, reliable, and willing to work evenings and weekends in line with the football calendar.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of League ticketing and retail requirements.
* Experience of successfully leading sales or marketing campaigns.
