From our offices in Ireland, the UK, Romania, and the US, we operate on a global scale, combining technical expertise with local delivery.Position SummaryNeoDyne is recruiting a Lead Automation Project Engineer to work on leading‑edge automation projects, predominantly in the Energy, Life Science and Food & Beverage sectors. A background in GAMP 5 and experience with Siemens, Rockwell and AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage. This role is offered as a full‑time staff position, based out of our Galway office, with an excellent salary and benefits package.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers delivering projects to customer sites.Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans.Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).Production of I/O schedules.Preparation of Functional Design specifications.Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA).Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics.Oversee commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems.Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality, and safety requirements.Fault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.).Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.Act as primary technical contact for clients and stakeholders, providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.Support proposal development and technical input for tenders.Monitor project performance and report on progress, identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.Lead and mentor graduate/ junior engineers.Experience & SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.7+ years’ automation engineering experience.PLC Programming Experience: Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider.HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens, Rockwell, AVEVA, Schneider.Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).DesiredExperience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.Full Irish Driving Licence.CharacteristicsWork well as part of a team.Have excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.Can complete tasks independently, capable of self‑learning.Can prioritise and coordinate work.Have excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.Have a resilient attitude towards multitasking and project pressures.Are a strategic business thinker.What’s on offer?Competitive starting salary with year‑on‑year bonuses and salary increases.Paid Overtime.PRSA pension with employer contribution.Health Insurance.Income Protection.Life Assurance.Flexible Working.Don’t miss this opportunity to join a company at the forefront of industrial automation projects in Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe and the US.
