Role Overview
Based in the Enterprise COO function, this Reporting Specialist supports the implementation of Reporting Standards across Northern Trust. The role involves standardizing controls and issue reporting for 1st and 2nd line of defense stakeholders, developing reporting standards, data metrics, dictionaries, and data quality tools, and establishing communities of practice for oversight and learning.
Principal Responsibilities
Define and align standard tactical and strategic reports for board, scorecard, and other metrics across 1LOD and 2LOD.
Create standard reports, including trends and central data extracts, and produce ad‑hoc reports for CCO teams.
Run data quality reports, resolve exceptions, and produce metrics to identify trends.
Analyze the overall health of the internal control environment, identify trends, weaknesses, and recommend mitigation actions.
Respond to 2LOD review and challenge requests.
Escalate complex situations, articulate actionable plans, and drive results with strong organizational skills.
Provide recommendations, take initiative on projects, and manage multiple priorities independently.
Assist in transformation and change initiatives across the global organization within defined timelines.
Perform thematic read‑across to identify enterprise trends, formulate remediation plans, and ensure ownership.
Skills & Experience
Several years in financial services with experience in business analysis, reporting, CCO, or internal audit roles.
Experience in risk and control assessments such as RCSA and Compliance Risk Assessment.
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to explain complex topics concisely.
Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other business applications.
Experience using ServiceNow is strongly desired.
Strategic thinker who can execute with precision and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related field (MBA or advanced credentials preferred).
