Job Description
To maintain the building and grounds in a safe and secure condition, providing a proper environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in maintaining compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations. Report any non-compliance to supervisor or Safety Director.
* Attend formal training/education to improve and/or advance position skills.
* Perform building maintenance including rough carpentry, painting, drywall, and ceiling repair.
* Perform routine grounds work including mowing, trimming, raking, sweeping, spraying, watering, planting, and other duties as required.
* Perform floor care through maintaining floor surfaces (polishing, waxing, repairing, extracting, and cleaning).
* Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs including electric bed installation and removal; carpentry; and other repairs.
* Participate in department meetings, fire drills, elopement, and other disaster drills.
* Properly use, store, and dispose of hazardous, flammable, and combustible chemicals and materials.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Plant.
Qualifications:
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
1. Able to read and write in English.
2. Ability to rotate shifts and days off as required to perform assignments.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients.
4. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions in patient areas.
5. Knowledge of fire and safety codes, JCAHO requirements, and relevant state and federal regulations related to plant operations.
Education: High School diploma, with some vocational/technical school or apprentice training.
Licensure: Minimum - Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Experience: Minimum of two years related service.
