Senior Ecologist

Responsibilities:
* Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services, ensuring timely completion and exceptional results.
* Provide expert ecological input for a range of projects, leveraging your knowledge and experience to drive project success.
* Plan, conduct and supervise the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Prepare and monitor the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring compliance.
* Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements, providing expert insights and recommendations.
* Write technical reports and other deliverables, communicating complex information clearly and effectively.
* Manage quality, focusing on delivering contracts on time and to the highest possible standards, while continuously striving to improve the Ecology team's performance.
* Act as an expert witness at Oral Hearings, providing authoritative and objective opinions.
* Foster excellent relationships with clients, attending meetings and collaborating with design teams as needed to ensure project success.
Skills/Qualifications:
* Hold a degree in ecology or a related subject, demonstrating a strong foundation in ecological principles and practices.
* Possess a minimum of seven years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy, showcasing expertise and depth in the field.
* Become a member of CIEEM, CIWEM or an equivalent professional body, highlighting commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
* Demonstrate experience in the oral hearing process and the role of expert witness, showcasing ability to communicate complex information effectively.
* Display detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland, ensuring compliance and expert advice.
* Exhibit excellent technical report writing skills, communicating complex information clearly and concisely.
* Showcase experience in preparing and monitoring the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring compliance.
* Demonstrate experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, showcasing collaboration and teamwork skills.
* Highlight excellent communication, organisational and project management skills, ensuring seamless delivery of contracts and projects.
* Possess a full clean driver's licence, facilitating travel and mobility in the role.
