Overview
A long-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team in Dublin. The company delivers a wide range of complex civil projects across Ireland, including landfill construction, site enabling works, road overlays, concrete structures, and retaining walls. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS with solid civils experience to join a reputable contractor offering structured career progression and professional development.
Responsibilities
* Manage commercial and contractual aspects of multiple civil engineering projects.
* Advise on contractual matters at both project and company level.
* Identify contract opportunities for entitlement and manage associated documentation.
* Prepare subcontract and supplier documentation and assist with tender submissions.
* Draft commercial and contractual correspondence and support project communications.
* Prepare and submit monthly valuations, cost reports, variations, and final accounts in a timely manner.
* Support the Senior QS and Contracts Managers in subcontractor negotiations and account closures.
* Maintain and update risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time schedules.
* Conduct take-offs, compile BOQs, and assess drawings and work requirements at tender stage.
* Identify, investigate, and report on project losses.
Requirements
* Degree (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering.
* Proven experience across a broad range of civils works, including earthworks, structures, and concrete.
* Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts, including GCC, NEC, and subcontract forms.
* Excellent understanding of cost reporting, variations, and measurement methods.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant QS software tools.

* €60,000 - €70,000 aligned with experience.
