As a member of a small R&D team you will have the responsibility to support and maintain the R&D lab, contribute to the development of concept devices and associated processes.Essential job duties and responsibilities:Employees are expected to support the quality concepts inherent in the business philosophies of Integer including a variety of job related tasks, which may not be specific to this position profile.Accountabilities Include:* **Setup and Operate R&D Equipment** + Setup and operation of R&D equipment (e.g. CAM grinder, braiding machine, laminator, laser welder etc.)* **Support Process Development** + Design of new prototype processes + Define and document process procedure steps + Modification of existing processes + Build/Modification of processes including but not limited to… - Process Characterization (DOE etc.) - Debugging & troubleshooting of existing equipment/processes - Validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ)* **Participate in Product Design Activities** + Initial design evaluations + Provide support for product concept builds + Help test and evaluate different design concepts + Document builds and testing in Laboratory notebooks with full traceabilityMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:* Minimum of Level 6 Trade Certification or equivalent 3rd level qualification (e.g. Mechanical/Biomedical)* Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in the medical device industries or other comparable industries (e.g. electronics, automotive etc.)Skills And Knowledge* Knowledge of GMP and manufacturing processes* Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team* Knowledge of mechanical design & build techniques* Ability to work with and manage vendors to accomplish tasks* Experience in validation activities* Good knowledge of machine control systems and techniques* Experience in some of the following areas is desirable: + Wire Straightening + Laser Welding + Braiding + Grinding Applications + Polymer Reflow + PTFE Coating + Hydrophilic Coating + Heat Treatment + Metrology + High Volume Manufacturing* Knowledge of techniques and tools such as DOE, statistical techniques and lean tools is an advantage* Proficiency and experience in 2D and 3D modelling software is an advantage* Good report writing and test analysis* Good computer literacy and communication skills.Physical Demands* Lifting/carrying of up to 25kgs* Standing for extended periodsMental Demands* Hands-on* Innovative* Result driven* Self-starter* Organised* Attention to detail* Good team worker**U.S. Applicants: Equal Opportunity Employer.
