Job Title: CDL A or B Crack fill Driver/Laborer
Overview
Suit-Kote Corporation is currently seeking a Driver/Laborer for the Crack Fill Division for our upcoming season. Crack filling is a strenuous operation that requires the utmost focus and determination. Qualified individuals will be able to perform manual labor or drive for extended periods of time, have excellent hand-eye coordination, and be able to work safely in hazardous conditions.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property, job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties
* Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips
* Daily maintain and submit records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver's record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law as well as fuel receipts
* Able to use Electronic Log Devices
* Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight loading and unloading areas. Must be able to back up equipment in all types of weather and conditions. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight corners in all situations.
* Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment and any highway safety hazards noted enroute to location
* Maintain and clean equipment regularly
* Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
* Labor for extended hours in all weather conditions
Required Skill/Abilities
* Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
* Strong worth ethic
* Attention to detail
* Good time management skills
* Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations
* Ability to handle receipts; read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status, etc.
* Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently
* Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
* Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
* Ability to climb in and out of truck cab frequently
* Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
* Drive truck to and from destinations and apply material for periods of up to 11 hours
Other Requirements
* Consistently at work and on time
* High school diploma or GED is preferred
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
* Consent to a DMV license evaluation
* Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
* Must possess a valid CDL A or B with or the ability to obtain Tanker (N) endorsements
Salary Range: $15.50-$49.25/hour (Prevailing Wage)
