Description
The Data Steward will support the global reverse‑logistics operations of the re:Cycle Reverse Logistics Operations team, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across three operating systems used by more than 400 users in four facilities. The role maintains data integrity, drives performance metrics, and supports system security and compliance in a high‑volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of system data, within and outside of the application.
Develop and enforce data standards, policies, procedures, and governance strategies for global data integrity and compliance.
Perform regular data quality assessments, develop scorecards, and implement improvement plans to address identified issues.
Collaborate with stakeholders and service providers to understand data requirements and provide support.
Utilize SQL to query, extract, and analyze data to support business needs.
Generate and present data performance metrics and reports/visuals to leadership.
Provide training and support to team members on data‑related topics and best practices.
Manage ticket queue, prioritization, and trade‑offs for strategic system developments.
Facilitate migration of legacy data into new systems and reporting architecture as needed.
Test new data in development to ensure successful implementation into production environments.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or 4+ additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with one or more query languages (SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
Experience with data‑warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, and reporting/analytic tools.
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Experience defining KPIs/SLA’s used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
Experience working with and managing third‑party vendors.
