About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing large-scale construction projects, including HV substations and mechanical/electrical plants.

Key Responsibilities
">
">
1. Manage project scope, timeline, and budget;
">
2. Directly interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases;
">
3. Work with general contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high-quality project turn-overs in line with electrical utility requirements;
">
4. Lead negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy;
">
5. Create construction project scope and request for proposals;
">
6. Conduct construction submittal review;
">
7. Liaise with teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis associated with equipment or electrical failures;
">
8. Negotiate easements/wayleaves with land owners, utilities, etc.;
">
9. Implement value engineering: reduce costs through creative solutions with no impact on quality and reliability (new designs, technology, or construction methods);
">
10. Travel to sites for leadership walk downs, audits, inspections, start-up testing, and full commissioning;

Requirements
">
To be successful in this role, you will need:
">
">
* 7+ years of recent experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plants;
">
* Demonstrated understanding of electrical engineering principles including breaker coordination studies and switchgear sequence of operation;
">
* Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems;
">
* Demonstrated contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders) associated with construction and project execution;
">
* Experience directly related to the design and construction of HV substations or large scale mechanical and electrical plants;
">
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science OR 4+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
