About the Role
HCS is currently seeking an experienced Senior Monitoring Analyst to join our Ireland-based 24×7 operations team, supporting our proactive monitoring and managed services offering.
This is a hands‑on, technical role focused on real‑time monitoring, alert triage, proactive remediation, and escalation across customer environments. You will play a key role in preventing service disruption by identifying issues early, resolving them quickly, and ensuring effective handover to resolver teams where required.
This role operates as part of a 24×7 rota and is based in Ireland, supporting customers around the clock and ensuring consistent service quality.
Key Responsibilities
Provide continuous monitoring of customer environments across servers, endpoints, network devices, Microsoft Azure and 365 services.
Triage alerts from monitoring and RMM platforms, distinguishing between events, incidents, and false positives.
Prioritise and respond to alerts in line with severity, impact, and SLA.
Ensure accurate ticket logging, categorisation, and documentation in the service management platform.
Perform first and second‑line investigation as well as remediation of monitoring alerts.
Resolve common issues such as:
Disk space and resource exhaustion
Service and agent failures
Escalate incidents to Infrastructure, Network, Security, or Service Desk teams with clear diagnostics and context.
Assisting the patching team with out-of-hours patching
Monitor and manage backup‑related alerts and tickets
Proven experience in a 24×7 NOC, monitoring, or IT operations role.
Strong understanding of ITIL practices, particularly Event Management and Incident Management.
Hands‑on experience with monitoring and RMM platforms (e.g. N‑able or similar).
Solid technical knowledge of:
Windows servers and endpoints
Core infrastructure concepts (CPU, memory, disk, services)
Microsoft 365 service health and availability
Experience with automated remediation or scripting in monitoring environments.
Exposure to security‑related alerts (AV/EDR health, failed logins, agent checks).
Background in an MSP or SLA‑driven managed services environment.
Experience managing Fortinet fabric.
ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
Relevant industry certifications (AZ104, VCP, NSE4 etc)
