Background
Our client are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee challenging civils projects in the water sector. The role involves managing contracts from pre-commencement through to operational handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in contract delivery, supporting team culture, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Manage all aspects of build-only or design-and-build contracts for public and private clients.
* Lead project teams, including design staff, project staff, subcontractors, and support personnel.
* Oversee project management, project control, engineering management, and construction activities.
* Coordinate with internal and external design teams across civil, process, mechanical, electrical, ICA, H&S, and BIM disciplines.
* Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships from project commencement to close-out.
* Proactively resolve issues relating to performance, scope, cost, and schedule.
* Develop programme schedules, resource-loaded plans, and ensure timely reporting of project status.
* Drive consistent implementation of health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures across all contracts.
* Deliver projects that meet financial, quality, risk, and schedule objectives.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
* 8+ years' experience in water and wastewater contracting, including site supervision and design.
* Strong knowledge of water and wastewater design and operational processes.
* Proven track record in delivering multiple infrastructure contracts.
* Good understanding of contracts and commercial management.
* Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.
* Chartered Engineer preferred but not essential.
* Full clean Irish/UK/EU driving licence and authorised to work in Ireland.
