The GM will be responsible for the day-to-day running of all activities of the club, including enacting strategic planning, overseeing sailing and bar and catering activities, managing the historic clubhouse, engaging with membership, and managing staff relations.

The role reports to the Operational Board of the club and administratively to the Vice Commodore.

* Ensure adherence to high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
* Implement effective processes and systems to optimize operations.

4. Member and Stakeholder Engagement

· Act as the primary point of contact for members, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

· Address member feedback with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.

· Engage with and understand the needs of all member age groups and categories, developing and maintaining services for all.

· Cultivate relationships with sponsors, corporates, partners, and the wider community to enhance the club's profile.

5. Vision for the Club

* Develop initiatives to grow and diversify membership while maintaining high satisfaction levels.
* Ensure financial stability and sustainability through sound budgeting and revenue-generation strategies.

6. Sailing Program Development

* Support the Sailing Manager to:

* Manage member sailing services and facilities.

7. Social, Bar, and Dining Experience

* Work closely with Bar and Catering to:
* Deliver consistent and high-quality bar and catering services to the members.
* Drive innovation in menus, events, and services to enhance member satisfaction and attract new members.
* Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring they align with the club's high standards.

8. Communication with Club Leadership

* Collaborate closely with flag officers and the operational board to align on strategic priorities and decisions.
* Maintain transparent and effective communication with club leadership, providing regular updates on operations, finances, and progress toward goals.

9. Staff Leadership and Development

* Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
* Set clear performance standards, conduct regular evaluations, and provide professional development opportunities.
* Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Personal Attributes:

* Energetic, approachable, and member-focused.
* Adaptable, with a balance of respect for tradition and enthusiasm for innovation.
