Project Lead (Part-Time, 8 Months October 2025 to May 2026)
Mixed Ability Sport Ireland is looking for a motivated and organised Project Lead to deliver an
exciting new initiative funded by the prestigious Rethink Ireland Fund. This role is based on
contract for services
between the project duration of October 2025 to May 2026.
Working in partnership with Horizons (formally Cope Foundation) and Cork Sports
Partnership, this project will use the Mixed Ability model to promote inclusion in sport.
Supporting opportunities for people with and without disabilities to participate together in
grassroots clubs across Cork City and County.
The role is locally based in Cork and involves close collaboration with sports clubs, community
groups, and partner organisations.
Please note: this role requires an immediate start.
Role Summary
The Project Lead will support the project partners in ensuring the smooth planning, delivery,
and sustainability of the initiative.
Key outcomes of the project include:
• Supporting three local sports clubs to establish mixed ability teams.
• Helping clubs engage with the Mixed Ability Sports Model.
• Engaging with key stakeholders from sports governing bodies, disability services, local
authorities and international bodies.
• Promoting and showcasing activities to increase visibility and participation.
• Coordinating a Mixed Ability Sports events in conjunction with Cork Sports
Partnership.
• Producing an evaluation report with key learnings and recommendations.
• Developing a toolkit to enable other clubs to replicate the model.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with the Project Manager/Project Partners to deliver the project within agreed
timelines.
• Liaise with clubs, stakeholders, and community partners to plan and deliver activities.
• Promote and market club activities in collaboration with participating organisations.
• Develop evaluation tools, gather data, and track outcomes.
• Present progress updates and findings to the project team and funders.
• Carry out project administration and contribute to wider sustainability planning.
Essential Criteria
• Proven project management experience, ideally in sport, health, community, or
related areas.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and building positive relationships.
• Ability to plan, deliver, and monitor projects with measurable outcomes.
• Good report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in digital tools and MS Office/Google Workspace.
• Self-starter with initiative, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel locally as part of the role (full clean driving licence required).
Desirable (not essential)
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Knowledge of community sport development or inclusion programmes.
• Experience working in public, community, or non-profit environments.
• Mixed Ability Sports experience (Mixed Ability Sports training will be provided)
Contract & Fee
• Duration: 8 months (part-time, 20 hours per week, may include evening or weekend
work)
• Fee: €23,000 for the full contract period.
