Overview of Role
Our client requires an ICT Systems Specialist who will ensure the stability, security, and performance of the client's applications and systems. The role centres on maintaining reliable back-end operations across Microsoft 365 services and on-premises environments. As a Level 3 escalation point, the Specialist develops automation and process improvements to boost efficiency and service quality, while also ensuring compliance with internal governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Support and maintain multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Intune, Power Platform, and Power BI.
* Administer and secure on-premises Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy, Azure AD (Entra ID), Exchange, and SharePoint.
* Automate operational processes using AI, PowerShell, Power Platform, and Logic Apps to improve reliability and performance.
* Lead implementation and migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments.
* Provide Level 3 technical support, troubleshoot complex incidents, and coordinate remediation with vendors where necessary.
* Maintain operational documentation and ensure adherence to ITIL-based governance processes.
* Participate in ICT audits, penetration testing, and implement findings to strengthen security posture.
* Drive service delivery excellence by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centred support.
* Mentor ICT team members and support capability development through training and knowledge sharing.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Strong technical expertise across Microsoft 365 and on-premises Microsoft technologies.
* Proven experience with Entra ID / Azure AD, Active Directory, SharePoint on-premises, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
* Demonstrated experience with automation through PowerShell, Power Platform, and Logic Apps.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
* Strong understanding of ITIL principles, governance, and audit compliance.
Experience:
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in ICT administration and support within complex enterprise or multi-tenant environments.
* Hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructures.
* Track record in leading process automation initiatives and delivering infrastructure improvements at scale.
Education & Certifications:
* Relevant third-level qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (Desirable).
* Advanced certifications in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, or equivalent (Highly desirable).
Visa:
* Irish/EU Citizen or Stamp 4 Visa holder.
