As a Senior Test Engineer, you will join our highly skilled Product team, working on the cloud-hosted FINEOS Suite. As part of a cross functional scrum team, working in conjunction with our internal and external customers, you will test new Product features including those leveraging AI capabilities and expand existing automated test content. Testing will be aligned with best practices to ensure optimal adherence to test pyramid levels. You will innovate and propose improvements while also mentoring more junior testers and automation practitioners. All our Test Engineers work closely and collaborate with other testers, developers, analysts, product owners and other specialists across product lines while operating within a scaled agile framework. Successful candidates will be keen to work and learn in a collaborative, agile environment while contributing to the evolving test practices necessary to adapt to new challenges presented by a rapidly expanding business.
Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
Work within a Scrum team to ensure successful delivery, based on definition of done for features and user stories.
Attend daily Scrum meetings and regular retrospectives and demonstrations.
Participate and contribute to regular innovation-focused cycles.
Participate within the wider Test Community of Practice and attend regular discussions and presentations related to QA.
Test Analysis and Design based on feature documents and other supporting documentation.
Validate AI-driven features for accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
Test creation and execution, based on industry best practices and experience covering Functional, End-to-End, UI, Workflow, Non-Functional, Maintenance, and Regression testing performed on Cloud-based and on-premise environments.
Automation of test cases based on best practice guidelines and FINEOS standards using Java Selenium WebDriver/Framework performed on Cloud-based and on-premise environments.
Manual test execution using a mix of scripted and non-scripted (exploratory) testing.
Test & Defect Tracking based on Agile best practice.
Liaise with other Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, System Support teams, and Clients to ensure successful delivery.
Represent the client, with a focus on functional and non-functional testing with UX central to successful delivery.
Provide input to the planning, resourcing, scheduling, and monitoring of project test tasks and activities for Agile projects.
Troubleshoot and analyze issues and suggest solutions/workarounds.
Demonstrate features at Sprint and PI level.
Provide mentoring and guidance to team members.
Identify and implement improvements that enhance the Test Process and improve overall Quality Assurance practices.
Contribute to evolving strategies via inspect and adapt, communities of practice, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Validate FINEOS software in cloud‑based (AWS) or in‑house test environments as required.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Senior Test Engineer working preferably within web-based applications and integrations.
Experience of Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe).
Relevant third-level qualification (BS/MS) or equivalent commercial experience.
ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate in Software Testing (or equivalent qualification).
Insurance domain experience is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong test analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, use initiative, and work to tight deadlines.
Knowledge of cloud testing strategies is desirable.
The role will include validating features that leverage AI capabilities, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance in AI‑driven workflows
Strong test analysis and test design capability, particularly for complex features.
Technical Skills
Automated test design and script‑writing experience, preferably for end‑user testing of enterprise thin‑client applications.
Experience using Java Selenium WebDriver.
Knowledge of testing tools such as SoapUI, Junit, and TestNG.
Experience with at least one scripting language.
Experience with BDD Testing.
Experience testing web services and APIs using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
Exposure to Continuous Integration and build automation tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, Nexus would be an advantage.
Exposure to code analysis tools such as Sonar, PMD, FindBugs.
Practical knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server) and ability to write and run basic SQL queries as part of test verification.
Multi‑platform skills (Linux/Unix/Windows) would be an advantage.
Experience/exposure to AWS or other Cloud technologies desirable.
Experience with Python for AI/ML testing would be an advantage.
Language Skills
Ability tospeaktheEnglish languageproficiently, both verbally and in writing.
Travel Requirements
