Role Overview
Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Healthcare Assistant for its Nursing Home - St Patrick's Care Centre, Baldoyle, Dublin 13. To provide quality person-centred care to our residents that is both efficient and effective.
Responsibilities
Maximise the independence of the resident.
Provide support to the resident to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
Afford every opportunity to the resident to live and die with dignity.
Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their equality and dignity at all times.
Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager, e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining and all other aspects of daily living.
Contribute to a range of social, recreational and educational activities aimed at providing a stimulating environment for the residents.
Maximise the emotional and physical comfort of residents.
Participate in care delivery as outlined in the resident's care plan, reporting any changes observed in the resident's physical or mental state.
Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for the residents, staff and visitors.
Engage in the serving of resident meals with an awareness of their dietary needs and assistance required.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in a nursing home environment or relevant experience.
Strong written and spoken English.
Desirable Qualifications
QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support.
Knowledge of and experience in dementia care.
