Business and Engagement Researcher Project: INFORMBIO -INtegrated Framework f OR Mapping, Modelling and Monitoring Irelands BIOeconomy INFORMBIO is a project funded through Irelands Dept.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.of Agriculture, Food and the Marines 2021 Research Call.The project will run from 2021-2025 and is led by Munster Technological University in collaboration with Teagasc, NUI Galway and the Central Statistics Office (CSO).INFORMBIO will support preparations for a bioeconomy observatory for a sustainable and circular bioeconomy by developing an INtegrated Framework f Or the Mapping, Modelling and Monitoring of Irelands BIOeconomy.INFORMBIO will; map and analyse Irelands sustainable raw material base and biobased value chain opportunities; model bioeconomy scenarios to understand their potential to help Ireland meet its climate and sustainability targets and monitor the impact of the bioeconomy in the form of a prototype bioeconomy monitoring system.Munster Technological University (MTU) is currently recruiting a Business and Engagement Researcher to join the INFORMBIO team.Working within the MTU Inform Bio team at Circ Bio Research Group alongside partners Teagasc, NUI Galway and the CSO, the successful candidate will assess business cases for Irelands bioeconomy, co-develop a foresight study towards a sustainable Irish bioeconomy, and support development of project promotional materials and event.This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a high impact and multi-disciplinary project supporting project activities and ensuring impact from results.The researcher will evaluate final business cases for a chapter in a national bioeconomy foresight study in collaboration with partners working on aligned LCA and foresight cases.The researcher will compile and analyze their findings in written technical reports and publications.The researcher will also play a key role in collaboration with partners on project engagement and dissemination activities, maximizing the impact of project outputs to target audiences.Description of Work Tasks and Responsibilities include: Review, evaluate and finalize business cases surrounding bio-based value chains Draft and review reports, including the development on an Inform Bio foresight study for a sustainable Irish bioeconomy Conduct stakeholder mapping for specific bio-based values Develop market analyses of various bio-based product opportunities Develop and contribute to deliverables and peer-reviewed publications Mine data from grey literature and peer reviewed publications among other sources Conduct sensitivity analysis for bioeconomy business cases Lead the development of project dissemination materials and events Qualifications and experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum post-graduate degree (MSc or Ph D) in a related area.Candidates must demonstrate the following: An MSc or Phd degree in a related area is essential Experience in application of techno-economic assessment or economic analysis in a relevant area Experience in collection and analysis of data for robust economic and market analysis Proven record in delivery of high-quality report and publications Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills The following is desirable Familiarity of economic analysis of bio-based value chains Experience in prioritizing and/or comparing feasibility of bio-based value chains in different scenarios Experience conducting market analysis Strong knowledge of bio-based value chains and relevant stakeholder networks Experience in planning and implementing workshops and dissemination activities Experience in development of marketing/promotional materials for projects Knowledge in project monitoring and reporting Salary: This post is full time 7 months duration with end date of 31st August 2026 with an annual salary of €50,168.Position to commence on 1st Feb 2026.Application Procedure: All applications must be made online.Informal Enquiries: Informal enquiries ONLY by email to James Gaffey, Location: This post is based within the Circular Bioeconomy Research Group (Circ Bio) located at Centre of Applied Biosciences Research in Munster Technological University in Tralee however, occasional national visits will be essential to collaborate with industrial and academic partners and event participation.Citizenship Requirement: Candidates should note that eligibility to compete for posts is open to citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or to non-EEA nationals with a valid work permit.The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, United Kingdom along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply.It is an offence under the Employment Permits Acts 2003 and 2006 for both an employer and an employee if a non-EEA National is in employment without an appropriate employment permit.Employment permit holders can only work for the employer named on the permit.
