Job Description
The main duties and responsibilities of the HSQE Advisor are outlined as follows:
Work as part of a team in the safe delivery of our projects, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are always adhered to on‑site.
Instill a positive Health and Safety culture within the team in their thinking and actions.
Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards.
Provide onsite HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure HSQE controls, mitigation measures are implemented, maintained, and performance monitored.
Help senior advisors develop Site Construction Stage plans, traffic management, waste management, etc. with the project team and monitor their implementation.
Ensure the Company carries out the duties of PD, PC and Contractor.
Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.
Monitor and report on the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided to the hazards identified during the weekly inspection/audits through our online management system.
Conduct accident/incident investigations in a timely manner with the support of the project team, making recommendations to management in respect of these.
Obtain and review safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors.
Ensure that subcontractors are made aware of the Company’s Plan and the requirement for project‑specific safety statements before appointment.
Review, revise and update the Plan in the light of subcontractors’ information, progress of work, receipt of new design information and occurrence of incidents or accidents.
Implement the Plan and monitor compliance of Company personnel and subcontractors against the Plan.
Bring any safety, health or welfare issues to the attention of the Contract Manager, Site Agent/foreman for action prior to leaving site.
Advise site management of suitability and adequacy of safety and health provisions, safe working methods, safety of equipment and validity of test certificates.
Responsible for the maintenance of all site safety documentation in conjunction with the site team.
Plan and hold safety inductions and briefings of Company and subcontractors’ personnel as detailed in the Safety and Health Plan for each project.
Experience in reviewing method statements and advising guidance on particular high‑risk activities such as overhead line, roadworks, deep excavations and rescue scenarios.
Carry out Site Inspections and generate reports.
Liaise with external parties relating to HSQE.
Ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) compliance.
