Transport Manager Shannon
We are recruiting a Transport Manager for our Client a global leader in the logistics industry. You will be based in their Shannon office, working within a dynamic team.
Responsibilities of a Transport Manager
* Oversee daily road freight operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transport of goods across Ireland and the UK.
* Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and reduce fuel and time costs.
* Manage a team of drivers and logistics staff, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
* Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachograph, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
* Liaise with clients to meet delivery schedules and resolve transport-related issues swiftly and professionally.
* Maintain accurate transport records, reports, and audits in line with regulatory and company standards.
* Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
* Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to streamline loading, scheduling, and dispatch processes.
* Monitor KPIs, analyse transport data, and implement improvements to enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
* Manage budgets and supplier contracts, ensuring cost control and value across transport operations
Essential Skills:
* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a relevant field, or a minimum of four years' related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of both.
* Strong ability to define, develop, and document business processes and procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
