Graduate Electrical Engineer (Transmission & Distribution)
Full‑time position located in Dublin, Cork or Galway, Ireland. Start date: June 26 onwards. Hybrid work model with a requirement for occasional site visits to construction sites for substations, cables and overhead lines.
Responsibilities
Work on transmission assets in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and selected European projects, with potential international travel.
Assist in conceptual design, substation site selection and substation design.
Perform ground resistivity measurement and earthing system design using CDE3D Substation & Switchyard Layout Visualization.
Support transformer and switchgear selection & installation activities.
Participate in options selection and evaluation for engineering solutions.
Contribute to detailed design of transmission, distribution infrastructure, protection systems, SCADA, communications, converter stations, HVDC systems and interconnectors.
Engage in project management tasks and support construction partners during the building phases.
Attend site visits, collect field data and assist in meeting client and stakeholder requirements.
Represent the team in industry bodies such as IET, IEI and CIGRE.
Qualifications
BSc/BEng in Electrical/Power Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above.
MSc/MEng in Electrical/Power Engineering is an advantage.
Completed HV & Power related coursework or modules.
Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D is preferred.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail and research/report writing ability.
Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively, both independently and in a team setting.
Enthusiastic, hard‑working, ambitious and driven.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally; site travel may be required.
