Mechanical Design Engineer - ENGLISH SPEAKING
Location: The Netherlands (on-site), 1 - 2 year contract with potential of permanent employment, NOT project/freelance
Join a leading engineering consultancy working on large-scale sustainable building projects
Are you a mechanical engineer with a passion for designing smart, sustainable solutions for industrial and commercial buildings? A well-established and highly respected company in the Netherlands is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen its team.
️ What you’ll do
* Design mechanical systems such as HVAC, climate control, and sanitary installations for complex building environments
* Ensure full compliance with technical standards, while incorporating innovative and sustainable practices
* Use tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and StabiCAD to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings
* Perform key calculations (e.g., ventilation, heat transmission, and cooling loads) using VABI, Dialux, Intelec, or similar tools
* Collaborate closely with consultants, engineers, and project teams throughout all stages
* Provide cost estimates and ensure timely delivery of documents and permits
What we’re looking for
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (HBO or equivalent)
* At least 4 years of experience working on mechanical installations in building projects
* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, StabiCAD, and mechanical system design software
* Strong technical understanding of sustainable building installations
* Based in the EU or open to relocation to the Netherlands – visa sponsorship available
We Offer
* 1-2 year contract (40 hours/week) with the possibility of permanent employment.
* Monthly gross salary: €3,800 - €5,300 (based on experience and education).
* Holiday allowance of 8.33%, paid annually in May.
* Relocation support:
* First housing arranged and upfront payment of rent/deposit if needed
* Pick-up on arrival and onboarding support (bank, BSN, insurance, etc.)
* Work permit and visa assistance (if applicable).
* Team onboarding events and community support.
