Job DescriptionJoin our fabulous team at The Fleet Hotel as a Night Manager.The Night Manager is an important position working closely with the Operations Manager & Front Office team. The Night Manager oversees hotel operations during nighttime hours, ensuring smooth guest experiences, safety, and efficient front desk operations.
They handle late check-ins, security concerns, financial reconciliations, and emergency situations while maintaining high service standards.About The FleetThe Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar.
It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner's for decades.
The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley's Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner's for generations.Role ResponsibilitiesGuest Services & Front Desk OperationsManage check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries efficiently.Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.Monitor late arrivals and early departures, ensuring seamless service.Security & SafetyEnsure guest and staff safety during nighttime hours.Conduct property inspections, firewalks and address security concerns.Coordinate with security personnel and respond to emergency situations (fire alarms, medical incidents, disturbances).Enforce hotel policies, including noise control and unauthorized access prevention.Financial & Administrative DutiesOversee night audit processes, including reconciling daily transactions.Manage cash handling procedures and ensure proper balancing of tills.Monitor occupancy levels and handle walk-in reservations.Staff Supervision & Team LeadershipSupervise and support night staff, including front desk, housekeeping, and security teams.Delegate tasks to ensure efficiency in overnight operations.Provide training and guidance to night shift employees.Act as the main point of contact for any escalations.Operational OversightEnsure smooth handover to the morning team with detailed reports.Address maintenance and housekeeping issues that arise overnight.Monitor hotel facilities and ensure cleanliness and readiness for the following day. About The RoleRequirementsEducation & Experience:Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.Experience working night shifts.Experience in hospitality management.Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts calmly.Proficient in using management systems, HotSoft preferred.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Basic financial literacy (e.g., managing petty cash, end-of-day reports, night audits).
