Job Overview:
The role of a Customs Clearance Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the seamless import and export of goods, adhering to Irish customs regulations and company procedures.
Responsibilities:
* To ensure accurate and timely customs entries in compliance with Irish customs regulations and client SOPs.
* Coordinate customs clearance documentation for clients, resolving queries or issues efficiently.
* Conduct thorough due diligence checks, escalating processes as needed, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the operational team to guarantee accurate information is available at all times.
* Maintain effective communication with customs authorities on a daily basis, resolving queries or concerns promptly.
* Focus on key account customers, delivering exceptional service and meeting their needs promptly.
* Ensure accurate calculation and collection of Duty/VAT, following relevant regulations and procedures.
* Follow up on any queries or refunds, resolving them promptly and efficiently.
* Resolve queries, issues, and delays, proposing solutions to continuously improve clients' experience.
* Maintain data quality on our Supply Chain Visibility platform, ensuring accurate information is presented to customers.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest customs regulations updates and changes, applying this knowledge to enhance performance and compliance.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in completing customs entries in a freight forwarding environment is essential.
* Experience with customs software, such as Thyme IT, is highly desirable.
* Experience with DAFM requirements is an advantage.
* Excellent knowledge of Irish customs procedures and systems is required.
* Quick and accurate data entry skills are essential.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent communication skills are necessary for effective stakeholder management.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks efficiently.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.
