As a Software Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering bespoke automated assembly equipment. Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls teams, you will develop robust, high-performance software solutions and support projects from initial concept right through to commissioning and validation on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop control system software for automated machinery (PLC, HMI, robotics, motion and vision systems).
2. Test, debug, and commission machine control software on new equipment.
3. Provide technical support throughout the full machine lifecycle: design, build, debug, commissioning.
4. Participate in cross-functional design reviews.
5. Create and maintain documentation for new and upgraded equipment.
6. Ensure project milestones, quality expectations, and performance targets are met.
Qualifications & Experience
7. Level 8 qualification in Automation & Robotics or related software discipline.
8. Proven experience in a similar automation or controls software role.
9. Strong capability in PLC, robotics, HMI, and vision system software development.
10. Experience with servo-electric and pneumatic motion control.
11. Good understanding of machine safety standards and requirements.
