Sustainability Manager
Location: Lilly, Kinsale (with travel to other Ireland sites as required)
Salary: Up to €70,000 DOE plus Sodexo Benefits

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Sustainability Manager to lead the on-site delivery of sustainability initiatives across Lilly Ireland sites. This role will work closely with Lilly stakeholders and Sodexo operational teams to turn strategic sustainability commitments into practical, measurable programmes that create real impact.
The successful candidate will drive sustainability projects across energy efficiency, decarbonisation, waste reduction, biodiversity, colleague engagement, and green transport initiatives while supporting governance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape flagship sustainability programmes within a highly regulated and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver a sustainability roadmap aligned with Lilly’s sustainability strategy and site priorities.
Lead initiatives focused on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and support for decarbonisation plans.
Support ISO 50001 energy management activities and participate in cross-site energy committees.
Drive waste reduction, recycling, and circular economy initiatives, including single‑use plastic reduction programmes.
Promote sustainability culture through awareness campaigns, engagement activities, and volunteering initiatives.
Lead biodiversity and nature‑positive projects aligned with the All‑Ireland Pollinator Plan and local community partnerships.
Develop and support greener transport initiatives, including active travel and lower‑carbon commuting options.
Establish effective sustainability data tracking, KPI reporting, and governance processes.
Identify innovative opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives across the Ireland portfolio.
About You
We are seeking a motivated sustainability professional who can influence stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and deliver meaningful environmental improvements in a complex operational environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience delivering sustainability or environmental programmes within corporate, industrial, or regulated environments.
Strong project and programme management capability.
Experience managing sustainability initiatives across areas such as energy, waste, biodiversity, engagement, or sustainable travel.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience tracking sustainability KPIs.
Ability to influence behavioural change and engage frontline teams and leadership.
Practical, solutions‑focused mindset with strong organisational skills.
Willingness to travel to other Ireland sites when required.
Desirable
Qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
Knowledge of ISO 50001 and environmental management systems.
Experience within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or highly regulated environments.
Understanding of carbon reduction and decarbonisation strategies.
