Job Requirements
Evaluate and assure supplier produced Aero-Engine parts are delivered to the customer as agreed to meet Engine build schedule. Identify bottlenecks and capacity constraints to develop improvement and mitigation plans for improved on-time delivery from suppliers. This hybrid position requires aspects of supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing and quality assurance. Candidates must possess a driving licence and a willingness to travel.
Responsibilities
Supply chain management and production planning support of various OEM sites and their suppliers located within Ireland.
Make detailed observations, gather part and process data, interpret and analyse that data, ensure closure of engineering questions and part non‑conformances.
Monitor MRP tools, production schedules, WIP (shop floor) and non‑conformances against delivery commit dates. Estimate/revise delivery dates.
Identify bottlenecks, conduct gap analysis, create mitigation plans, generate and track action items to closure.
Develop positive, customer‑facing relationships with engineers, buyers and program management at both the OEM and supply base levels.
Conduct part transition planning, execution and verification work.
Document, summarise, write reports and disseminate information per requirements.
Develop/enhance work instructions to implement best practices/lessons learned and ensure repeatability of tasks.
Work Experience
Understanding of manufacturing processes: forging, casting, assembly, machining, special processes.
Planning, raw material, inventory, tool, buffer stocks and procurement.
Involvement with process planning and production readiness reviews.
Familiarity with operating/work instructions and control plans.
Experience with lean methodologies and tools.
Knowledge of inventory management and handling.
Understanding of in‑production processes: machining, assembly, CMM, special processes, 5S, BOM.
Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
Experience with quality systems and industry standards (ISO 9000, AS 9000, IRIS, COC) compliance, including process and material certificates.
Knowledge of part qualification requirements (PPAP, FAI, RCCA) processes.
Understanding proper measurement/inspection tool use and requirements.
History of identifying and resolving part quality and delivery issues, including formal problem‑solving tools and NCM requirements.
Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies, tools and terms.
Experience in supply chain management, production planning, quality and operations.
Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
History of customer facing work.
Shipping and distribution experience.
Experience Desired
Experience with structured problem‑solving methodology: lean/ACE, lead change/improvement activity, DMAIC, Six Sigma, etc.
Formal auditing qualification.
Green Belt or Black Belt training.
Previous experience in aerospace or rail industries.
Ability to read/interpret drawings, understanding GD&T and critical characteristics (KPCs).
Management qualification.
Ability to persuade and influence decision making without authority.
