Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist Role Summary

The Blackrock Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take on a challenging and rewarding role, working with a dynamic and progressive hospital.



Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Physiotherapist with extensive experience in Cardiothoracic physiotherapy to lead and manage the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy service at our hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating the service, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively.

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be responsible for assessing patients, planning and implementing treatment plans, and evaluating patient progress. In addition, you will be required to teach and train junior staff and students, and to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.

You will have a high level of clinical expertise in Cardiothoracic physiotherapy and be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the department's policies and procedures.



Required Skills and Qualifications

* Qualification in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution
* Extensive experience in Cardiothoracic physiotherapy
* Ability to assess patients and develop treatment plans
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Leadership and management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess any of the following qualifications:

* BSc(Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Dublin
* BSc in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
* BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) from the National University of Ireland
* Diploma of Physiotherapy of the University of Dublin or the National University
* BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick

A continued professional development diary including evidence of reflective practice, in-service training, courses attended, and clinical governance gained is also desirable.
