This role offers a unique opportunity to represent one of the world's most recognised insurance brands, driving engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland, Irish government institutions, industry associations, and key European stakeholders on high-impact regulatory matters.The role holder will support strategic engagement with commercial, regulatory, governmental, and market stakeholders in Ireland on issues central to the Lloyd's Europe operating model.
Working closely with the Irish Country Manager, the role contributes to positioning Lloyd's Europe effectively within the local policy and commercial landscape.
It is an ideal role for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and energised by working across a diverse range of topics in a dynamic, small-office environment.
You will also help todevelop, coordinate and execute The European Market Strategy in close cooperation with the LIC Senior Manager, EU Public Affairs, to maximise impact and ensure EMS is achieving its objectives, with a specific focus on Ireland.
**Principal Accountabilities*** Support the Ireland Country Manager and Senior Lloyd's (Europe) personnel in partnership management and engagements with local stakeholders, insurers, brokers, governments and trade bodies.
Support the Ireland Country Manager respond to requests from the CBI, or other Irish government and regulatory bodies.
* Support Lloyd's Europe's relationships and credibility with regulators and assist in effective communication with regulators.
* Monitor and respond to regulatory developments that affect Lloyd's Europe' trading rights and advocate for sustained or improved trading rights.
* Ensure all the formalities required locally to maintain the freedom of establishment license of LIC, this includes regular updates to the relevant local business registers.
Manage delivery of communication and appropriate consultation on regulatory developments internally and with outsourced service providers and broader industry stakeholders.
* Contribute to regional initiatives as appropriate with the LIC Corporate & Legal and Market Development Teams.
* Support key projects to address regulatory changes so as to ensure continued compliance with requirements, including regulatory returns and data collections.
* Contribute to the review process for the Crystal regulatory tool and other regulatory market communications.
* Legal and regulatory watch: support Corporate & Legal Team in coordinating legal & regulatory horizon scanning.
* In coordination with LIC Senior Manager, EU Public Affairs work on specific European Market Strategy initiatives in Ireland by unlocking opportunities to strengthen Lloyd's voice in Europe, leveraging the connections of Ireland to the UK.
**Skills Knowledge and Experience*** Knowledge of Ireland's insurance regulatory environment* Insurance market knowledge including Lloyd's, London and Irish markets* IT literacy with the ability to learn how to use new software solutions.
* PowerPoint presentation skills and ability to present ideas in a succinct and in a clear and persuasive manner.
* Familiarity with the functioning of European Union policymaking process* Knowledge of EU insurance and horizontal financial services regulations would be a plus* Experience of working collaboratively and functionally within a team to deliver high quality output.
* Experience of working effectively with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
* Advocating/ interest representation activities* Experience working in a regulatory, supervisory, compliance or policy role within an Irish bank, insurer, financial services provider, or the Central Bank of Ireland would be an advantage* Experience in dealing with CBI and Irish authorities would be a plus* Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment* Effective written and verbal communication* Stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
