About the Role
The Clinical Operations Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational delivery of clinical services, ensuring they are safe, efficient, compliant, and patient-focused.
This role plays a key part in supporting service delivery, managing clinical teams, and driving quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a central link between clinical teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, ensuring services operate smoothly while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational leadership across clinical services, including workforce planning, rota management, and service capacity planning
* Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, regulatory standards, policies, and audit requirements
* Monitor and analyse service performance metrics including wait times, clinical outcomes, and service utilisation
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce service bottlenecks
* Act as a key liaison between clinicians, senior leadership, HR, and external healthcare partners including the HSE
* Manage service budgets, staffing costs, agency utilisation, and resource allocation
* Lead and support service development projects including new clinical pathways, digital transformation initiatives, and regulatory changes
* Oversee incident reporting, risk management processes, investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
Requirements
* Strong background in healthcare operations or clinical service delivery
* Previous experience in a healthcare management or leadership role
* Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulation, governance, and quality standards
* Experience working with or supporting services aligned with HSE frameworks
* Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent analytical and data interpretation abilities
* Proven experience in change management and service improvement initiatives
Reporting & Team Structure
The Clinical Operations Manager will oversee clinical leads, service coordinators, frontline clinicians, and administrative staff.
