Job Title: IT Field Service Engineer
We are recruiting an experienced IT Field Service Engineer to cover the Galway/Mayo/Sligo region. The role may involve various areas of expertise depending on the candidate’s ability to learn and adapt to complex technologies.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide on-site support to our customer base.
2. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers.
3. Coordinate with other engineers/technicians and customers.
4. Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues at customer sites.
5. Install and configure servers, computer equipment, and peripherals.
6. Address customer issues efficiently, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
7. Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding on-site visits.
8. Update the ticketing system after each call.
Requirements:
* Third-level qualification in an IT-related discipline; CompTIA certification or higher (up to degree level) preferred.
* Experience in a customer-facing role within the IT sector.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Desktop OS (domain environment), desktop applications, troubleshooting, etc.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think abstractly.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English.
* Full, clean Irish/EU driving license.
* Availability to work out of hours, including evenings and weekends on a rostered basis.
