Joining KPMG Ireland is an opportunity to enhance your career, not only in the work that you enjoy doing, but equally through the global connections that you make, the lifelong learning that you can accomplish and the chance to make your mark.Are you our nextGovernment & Infrastructure Manager, focusing on Sustainable Energy Infrastructure?Location: Dublin 2, as part of our hybrid working model.Grade: ManagerContract type: PermanentA Snapshot Of Your Peer GroupAt least 5 years' previous experience, preferably in energy Infrastructure or / networks environment, technical energy role, or working in energy policy or regulationA deep interest in energy infrastructure, networks and energy systemsA third level degree in a related subject such as, Engineering, Maths, Physics, or EconomicsKnowledge of the island of Ireland's energy infrastructure networks and energy systems or an international equivalentExperience with energy networks infrastructure investment decision making methods and a reliable understanding of business case developmentKnowledge of energy systems modelling techniques including demand, generation and storage forecastingStrong commercial awarenessKnowledge or understanding of renewable energy technologies including network connection policies and financial support schemesAwareness of decarbonisation policy and NetZero policies in Ireland, Northern Ireland and in the EUAwareness of regulatory requirements applicable to industries such as electricity, gas, water and transportAwareness of wider perspective on ESG areas including the Green Procurement, Circular Economy and reporting requirementsUnderstanding or awareness of digital and flexibility (e.g. Smart grids)The ability to use tools/platforms/languages such as Power BI, Tableau, Python or R would be an advantageExperience of or exposure to Business Change in operations, asset management, capital projects, engineering or technology projectsAwareness of trends in digital approaches and improvements within Infrastructure sectors or Awareness of data and information frameworks such as BIM and Digital TwinsInsight on where trends in other sectors could be applied to Infrastructure would be an advantageYour responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:Working in teams in a hybrid environment across diverse and complex government and private sector infrastructure and client engagementsUtilising your industry experience to assist clients through support and advisory servicesAnalysing project and programmes control and strategic processes, policies and procedures while validating key findings / observations to present key recommendations to the client in a succinct mannerPresent reports in MS PowerPoint through concise / crisp presentation formsWorking on energy infrastructure engagements for different clients at any one timePotential to be seconded into client firms to assist during high output project phasesCollaborate with team members internally and client managers externally to meet agreed deliverable milestonesHelping to manage the day-to-day relationship with key client contacts, ensuring our service is responsive to their needsManaging the use and development of tools and methodologies across the team and within projectsLearning and developing your project control skills through close working relationships with more experienced colleaguesEngaging with global teams to leverage experience, resources, and capabilities.Ensuring KPMG's quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate standardEnsuring that the quality of our deliverables is of a high standard and compliant to ISO:9001Applying innovative and creative techniques to solve complex problems on client engagementsImmersing yourself in our inclusive, diverse, and supportive cultureYour TeamKPMG's Government and Infrastructure team helps drive transformation across energy, climate, trade, urban development, and digital equity.
