Team Lead - Support the Group Solicitor in:
Being a key point of contact for service users
Promoting the specialist service provided
Coordinating and supervising the work of the solicitors in the Litigation Department
Providing guidance to the team and ensuring that legal standards are maintained, company policies are followed and a quality, legal service is provided
Addressing issues affecting their work and deal with problems as they arise
Managing team members with a focus on leadership, communication and customer service
Litigation
Providing a high-quality legal service on public transport litigation, such as personal injuries, employment issues, defamation, mediation, arbitration, judicial review and commercial litigation
Case management
Opening file
Liaising with CIÉ Group Claims and Risk
Preparing the defense
Briefing Counsel
Agreeing costs / referral to the Office of the Legal Costs Adjudicators
Paying counsel
Closing files
Advising managers / drafting letters to managers in relation to particular cases
Representing the Company at the Workplace Relations Commission, including with Counsel
Supporting the work of colleagues in the CIÉ Group Solicitor’s Office
Work relationships

Qualifications and experience
Post-graduate qualifications in specialist areas
Annual CPD
10 years’ relevant experience

Comprehensive knowledge of Court rules and litigation practices
Knowledge of law in specialist areas
Knowledge of CIE Policies and Procedures
Managing multi-faceted cases
